Extended Exhalation (Extended breathing part 2)
Written by Administrator    Sunday, 26 April 2009 15:06    PDF Print E-mail

"This is the second lessons of a three part series of how to expand the breath. The technique covered in this lesson is designed to help expand, deepen, and extend the length of the exhalation and improve the quality of our awareness of the breath. By expanding the breathing pattern we are preparing ourselves for the more advanced pranayama techniques in which extended breath as well as retention is needed. On a more rudimentary level, extended breathing techniques help to improve the capacity of the lungs while toning the lungs and the respiration system. If we are practicing for therapeutic reasons then breath extension and control can help to improve the strength of the lungs, providing them with greater resistance to health problem related to the respiratory system."
