Written by Administrator    Monday, 04 May 2009 18:13    PDF Print E-mail

" Today we will be covering and extended breathing practice which is designed to help increase the capacity of the lungs helping to improve the health and durability of the lungs. This practice can also be used for therapeutic purposes to help decrease stress, anxiety, strain, and tension within the mind and body. It can also be used for those who suffer from insomnia or other sleeping disorders. This practice is a preparatory practice for the more advanced pranayama techniques, however it can be practiced by anyone at any time to help improve the fullness of the breath and increase the capacity of air the lungs can retain at any given inhalation or exhalation. In this practice we will be using abdominal breathing as well as yogic breathing."
